The group procures crude oil for its refining activities and petroleum products, thus ensuring the reference market can be supplied directly by Italiana Petroli. International trading is carried out via Apioil UK Limited, a subsidiary based in London.
Apioil UK Limited was founded in 1984 under the name api Services Limited as a kind of “observatory” for the international oil market and to provide administrative and back office services for the group.
In August 2014, following an intra-group transfer of a business unit, Apioil UK has also been active in the oil marketing sector, playing an intermediary role mainly in the sale and purchase of crude oil between producing countries and other traders.
