The api Group and ASviS

On 18 April, the api Group signed a three-year agreement ASviS, the Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile [Italian Sustainable Development Alliance], based on providing internal training on sustainable development objectives.

ASviS was founded on 3 February 2016, and was an initiative developed by the Unipolis Foundation and the University of Rome“Tor Vergata” with the aim of increasing awareness of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development among Italian society, institutions and businesses and calling on them to achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

On 25 September 2015, the United Nations approved the Global Agenda for Sustainable Development together with 17 Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by 2030. The Global Agenda follows the judgment of the clear unsustainability of the current model of economic and social development.

To mark the signing, Enrico Giovannini, President of ASviS, met with employees of the api Group and spoke about the key theme of sustainability. Managing Director Daniele Bandiera emphasised that “sustainability is a synonym of change and a key tool in terms of competitiveness and quality”.

As part of the process of strengthening social responsibility towards its stakeholders, the api Group is committed to the following actions and spheres of interest:

  • Creating lasting sustainable values (economic, social and environmental)
  • Integrity and upholding the law in the sector
  • Workplace health and safety
  • Always putting the customer at the centre of everything
  • Sustainable mobility
  • Taking care of human capital

Sustainability is embedded in the api Group’s corporate mission and manifests itself in the Academy through innovation and a culture that is key to steering the group towards a new future. Professor Giovannini highlighted its importance, saying " the establishment of the Academy marks the start of a path that aims to change the culture of the company in a disruptive way, within a world that advances in a non-linear way".
